Hailing from Savannah, GA Lee Anne holds a degree in English from the University of Georgia. Following graduation, she spent 15 years working in various Human Resources roles for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. Lee Anne joined Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. as the office manager in 2010. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and four dogs.

Installation Manager

Chris graduated from Southern Crescent Technical College in 2017 with a horticulture degree. While there, he benefited from the mentorship of his professor which helped grow Chris’s passion and knowledge of plants. It was through this education and the guidance of his mentor that led him to the unique and prestigious work environment at Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. Starting as a maintenance crew member, Chris flourished within the company and is proud to now be part of the management team. Hailing from Suwanee, where he continues to call home, he enjoys gardening and playing ice hockey with his friends.

North Carolina Office General Manager/Landscape Architect

Scott graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1993 with a focus on landscape and grounds maintenance. Four years later, he received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, also from the University of Georgia. He is a licensed Landscape Architect in Georgia and has over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Scott has worked in offices in Winterville, Watkinsville, and Atlanta before joining Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. in 2008.

Project Manager/Landscape Designer

A native of Sautee, Ga, Andy lives in Roswell with his wife and 2 daughters. The Slack family can be found frequenting the Children’s Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden on the weekends. Andy graduated with Honors from UGA with a BLA. Before joining Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. in 2017, Andy worked for a local pool and landscape design company.

Designer/Maintenance Manager

Anna resides in historic Marietta Square with her husband and two sons. She earned her degree in Ecological and Environmental Anthropology, with a minor in Horticulture, from the University of Georgia. During her studies, Anna gained hands-on experience through local gardening and farm projects. After graduation, she began her career in nursery management in Atlanta, where she discovered her true passion for the industry. Her career led her to residential garden design and fine garden maintenance management. Prior to coming to Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd., she served as Director of Garden Design and Maintenance at an Atlanta design firm where she specialized in perennial garden and container design. 

Anna is a Certified Plant Professional through the Georgia Green Industry Association. Her love for horticulture extends beyond her professional life—when she’s not working, you’ll find her tending to her own vegetable, cut flowers, and Dahlia gardens.

North Carolina Office Assistant

Gina is a native of Macon County, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband in Highlands. She worked for 20 years as a medical assistant before starting a property management company in Highlands in 2001 that she runs to this day. She treasures her time with her three children and grandchildren, and enjoys hiking and camping in the beautiful Southern Appalachian Mountains. Gina started with Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. in 2021.

Plant Procurement

Holly enjoys the challenge of searching for exceptional plants specified by Alex and his design studio while managing the logistics of an ever-changing plant palette. Before joining Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd., she managed the operations of a retail and wholesale nursery and spent a number of years working for global consulting firms in project management roles. Holly graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in journalism.

North Carolina Landscape Foreman

Felipe lives in Macon County with his wife and children. He has been in the Nursery/Landscape industry for over 20 years. He joined Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. in the fall of 2018 at the Scaly Mountain Branch. Felipe enjoys hiking, beach vacations and spending time with his family.

Project Manager/Landscape Designer

Ginger graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019 with a degree in landscape architecture. After graduation, she moved to South Florida to work for a local pool design company. After returning to her native Atlanta, she worked in residential and commercial development before joining Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. in 2024.

Outside of work, you can find her exploring her neighborhood, needlepointing, or reading on her porch.

Patrick graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree of Landscape Architecture. After graduating, Patrick then gained construction experience at a design build firm working on high end residential landscapes in Bozeman, Montana. He then went on to work at a landscape architecture firm specializing in multi-family housing and commercial projects in Southern California before joining Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd in 2024.

Patrick spends as much of his free time as possible outdoors and enjoys road trips to the mountains or the coast with his wife and dog.

North Carolina Landscape Foreman

Matt’s appreciation for plants and the outdoors came from his grandmother who taught him about plants and wildflowers. His first job in landscaping came right out of high school where he worked for Pat Marcelino and Southeastern Design in Rabun County GA. After that he had a myriad of jobs including painting, construction, and cabinet work before getting back to his roots. He grew up in Rabun Gap GA. Where he still resides today.

Landscape Designer

After interning with Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. in 2024, Cali returned as a full- time employee in 2025 upon graduating from the University of Georgia.

She received her bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture where she discovered her interest in detailed gardens and residential landscape design. Cali loves to be outdoors and always enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Assistant Garden Maintenance Manager
Rachel lives on a 4-acre property just west of Atlanta, where she’s bringing her dream to life— planting rows of cut flowers and spending time in her perennial gardens. Originally from Santa Cruz, California, her love for the outdoors began early in life. She holds a degree in Biology, providing her with a deep understanding of the natural world.

With over seven years of experience in the landscape industry, Rachel’s career began in landscape construction, where she managed installation projects. She later transitioned into garden maintenance management and fine gardening serving as Horticulture Director at a boutique landscape firm.

On the weekends she spends time with her son enjoying hiking, adventuring and all things that come with raising a boy.

Landscape Designer

Lauren graduated in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia. After interning with a high-end residential firm in the Atlanta area, Lauren joined the Alex Smith Garden Design, Ltd. team following graduation.

Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys traveling, running and spending time with her friends.
